About Rae Hansen

Rae Hansen

Rae has lived in Washington her entire life. After graduating from the University of Washington, she began her professional career working at WSDOT. She focused her work on highway design and construction projects centered on Puget Sound mobility improvements. Later in her career, she expanded to Port and Transit planning, design and construction projects within the Puget Sound region.

In August of 2021, Rae founded Rae Hansen Consulting Services where she works on projects in Washington as well as Texas. Rae has over 35 years of experience and expertise in port agency, transit agency, and highway planning and design. Her experience includes all phases of project delivery of roadways, highways, light rail, freight rail and port infrastructure. Rae collaborates with diverse team members to develop designs that meet the needs of stakeholders and users needs while balancing costs and safety requirements for each individual client and the traveling public.
